Clinical Typist/Administrator Obstetrics and Gynaecology

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic Clinical Typist / Administrator to join the Team in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
This post is a permanent post supporting the Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
The post holder will assist the Medical Secretary in providing an effective and efficient support service to clinical teams, maintaining robust systems and processes for administrative management of the patient pathway. The post holder will provide an efficient audio‑typing service to ensure that clinical correspondence and all associated actions are completed to ensure smooth progress throughout the patient pathway in line with clinical requests.
Main duties of the job
You will work flexibly as part of the team producing clinical correspondence using Medisec digital transcription software from outpatient and inpatient attendances, ensuring clinical line of priority and chronological order.
A good all‑round knowledge of medical terminology is preferred alongside previous experience of working in a clerical administrative role. You will be required to promptly file correspondence and investigation results into case notes in line with the trust policy, ensure accuracy and recording of all clinical events as part of the patient pathway, and provide general administrative support where required across the whole team.
