Role Description
Job title:Residential Support Worker
Salary:£26,100 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) plus an opportunity to earn an additional £2,600 per annum based on an average of 1 sleep-in per week
Location:Rhydyfelin, Rhondda Cynon Taf - The project is situated in easy commute of the M4 Cardiff and A470 Pontypridd/Merthyr Tydfil.
Contract/Hours:Permanent, Part-time – 20 hours per week & 15 hours per week

About the Service
Rhondda Short Breaks provides overnight short breaks for children and youngpeople from Rhondda Cynon Taff who have physical disability, learning disabilities and complex needs.
This service is available for young people aged 5-18 years old, giving them a high-quality break from home and their families some much-needed rest.
Many of the children we support may have substantial and highly complex needs and playing outside benefits their health, wellbeing and development.
About the role
Qualified or currently working towards a level 3 in Health and Social Care, within this Residential Support Worker role, you’ll lead a team of support workers on shift, ensuring high standards of care and personalised support for the children and young people we support.
This will include supporting in the absence of the Registered Manager or Team Leader, supervisions of staff, case managing and assisting in the development of the service.
How you’ll create brighter futures
* Lead shifts with the primary aim of the provision of a high-quality service.
* Provide lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing and managing risk.
* Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports.
* Attendance at professional meetings including reviews, court work etc.
* Supervise and guide staff as required, in accordance with Action for Children policies and procedures.
Let’s talk about you
* Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care children and young people (or recognised equivalent) or currently working towards.
* Experience of shift leading a team of support workers
* Flexibility to work a variety of shift patterns as agreed via the rolling rota.
* Experience and training in safeguarding
* Experience of developing tailored care plans
