Leading Hedge Fund provider revolutionising the industry (that's a big word, but they are)! are seeking a Mid-level Python engineer (1-2 years experience) to learn about the Hedge Fund industry and hone their programming skills.
This is a rare opportunity to get into a company in the sweet spot where product / market fit has been established, and they are on an amazing trajectory, but they are still privately owned, and are in a huge growth phase. People who join now are very well placed for that growth.
Hedge Fund (or even financial) experience isn't a prerequisite; you would be hired on the strength of your Front End (inc Vue.JS) programming skills.
The current stack includes:
It would be helpful if you were interested in tried and tested Agile (XP) and Product techniques and also understand the benefits (and limitations) of techniques such as TDD, BDD, pair/mob programming.
You employ CI/CD (with automated tests and type and linting checks) by default and are an advocate for automated testing, pragmatically balancing quality and delivery.
What you will be doing:
* Hands-on programming (Vue.JS) Writing and deploying high-quality TypeScript and Vue code
* Reviewing the code of the other developers on your team
* Working with designers and finance experts to launch new features
* Helping to design new features to make life easier for your team and the wider company
We want someone who has a collaborative mindset and has an innovative and empathic approach.
This is Associate level, (1-2 years' commercial experience) role and we need someone who is smart, who can grasp complex issues (and who relishes in finding their solutions )so that my client can invest in you and your career is nurtured and you can move up through the organisation.
Tech is: Vue.js, (which we would like you to have some experience in) along with:
* Nuxt, TypeScript, Vuetify, Tailwind, Vitest, Playwright, and AWS services such as DynamoDB, Lambda and CloudWatch - so experience with these technologies or alternatives would be helpful, but aren't essential. However, if you only have HTML and no Vue.js then we can't consider you.
Ideally you will have used techniques such as TDD, BDD, pair/mob programming and CI/CD with automated tests and linting. We would not expect much (or any) experience with these techniques but curiosity is key.
The wider team here is very smart yet humble. It's a super healthy working culture where no one is overly managed and people are given lots of freedom and flexibility.
