Our Lichfield Site sits in the heart of the Waikato, manufacturing many products, including a range of award winning cheeses. This cheese is exported internationally to a global market & into our NZ Mainland Products, through both our Dry Salt & Brine Salt Plants.
In addition, Lichfield site has a Whole Milk Powder plant which houses the largest Dryer in the world, along with a Whey Plant, producing whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate used in medical and nutritional products.
Nestled between Hamilton and Taupo, Lichfield is also central to Tauranga, Rotorua and Waitomo, and offers the perfect blend of work-life balance.

Run To Target (RTT) is a core COO strategy to deliver continuous performance improvement by enabling leadership, with frontline teams, to build a high-performance culture.
RTT is a line-focused approach to building the capability to rigorously maintain and execute standardised work processes to eliminate losses. It delivers one way of working that is practiced in over 500 sites worldwide, including Fonterra's global operations.
As part of our wider RTT rollout, we have an exceptional opportunity for an Asset Care Process Projects Manager, where you will be key in identifying and coordinating defect elimantion across the plant process. You will be able to understand and manage conflicting objectives, align stakeholder needs, work with the wider team around scheduling plant processes and ensure the performance is up kept.
This is a key role in developing and deploying effective operational and asset strategy processes, becoming the champion, while offering insights and recommendations to financial performance, and being influential in building the engagement and performance of our team, making great things happen.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, other key responsibilities include:
• Various projects and continuous improvement initiatives
• Work with maintenance to drive improvement in SAP data, and asset strategy
• Supporting the generation and delivery of key velocity initiatives across the site
• Identify, prioritise and manage process improvement projects
• Supporting teams to deliver operational excellence
• Provision of coaching and mentoring.
About you | Moe koe
Whether you come from an engineering, maintenance or manufacturing background the key to your success will be your previous experience of plant and manufacturing processes combined with your mechanical aptitude and strong project management/scheduling skills.
In addition you will be a strong communicator, a decision maker and be able to build effective relationships as well as to identifying and providing solutions and bringing people along for the journey to achieve great success.
A few other key attributes will include:
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent work experience
• Experience in Plant asset care &/ or dairy or manufacturing plant knowledge
• Strong ability to manage capital projects, from scope to delivery
• Experience in building capability across plant processes
• Business acumen with structured problem-solving and lateral thinking skills
