We have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Sales Manager to join us to assist in the development of sales within the Retail Convenience sector inGreater London focussing on independent Convenience store owners, franchisees, and Shopfitting Contractors.
Base and geographical area:
You will be based at home with 80% of your time being in the field throughout Greater London.
The area also includes the Home Counties, which in addition falls under your geographical responsibility.There will be on average 1 night overnight stay per week.
The role:
Reporting to the Head of Retail, your main focus will be identifying and securing new independent Convenience store business within designated geographical areas, via a methodical in-person cold calling approach, whilst maintaining and developing our existing customer base.
The sectors you will be working within include:
Small format Convenience and High Street Retail end users, plus Shopfitters, Flooring contractors, and Construction Project Managers.
Main responsibilities:
Securing project specifications directly with independent Retail end users, and small to medium sized Shopfitting contractors, via a high volume in-person cold calls.
Assisting the Head of Retail in defining and implementing a clear strategy for the development of the Retail Sector in line with the companys overall strategy.
Gathering market intelligence to help estimate market potential and market share of Gerflor and its competitors.
Attending appropriate exhibitions within Europe.
Ensuring customer account and project data is accurate and up to date
Proactively exploring market and customer feedback to maintain an aligned approach and competitive advantage
About you
This role is suited to an experienced sales professional with a successful track record of face-to-face B2C selling; it would be an advantage to have existing contacts and experience with a building products bias.
This is a largely autonomous role, where your ability to influence Retail end users and other project stakeholders directly is vital.With this being a predominantly field based cold calling role, a high level of resilience and tenacity is required due to the extremely competitive nature of the sector and geographical area.

Solid experience in a new business development or a senior sales capacity ideally in the Retail Sector
Experience of B2B and B2C selling
