About the Role

At Rolls-Royce, we pioneer the power that matters. Within our Civil Aerospace business, On-Wing Services provides rapid-response maintenance directly at our customers' locations, keeping aircraft in the air and reducing downtime. Our mission is to prevent AOG (Aircraft on Ground) events, optimise flying programmes, and deliver world-class technical support.

As we continue to evolve how we serve our airline customers, we are building a new team that will strengthen our operational agility, improve responsiveness, and further our reputation for outstanding customer support. This new UK-based team will act as the central hub for managing On-Wing maintenance planning and operational coordination for global airline customers.

As a Technical Planner, you will be the operational heartbeat of our On-Wing Services business. You'll manage incoming service requests, validate maintenance data, plan manpower and tooling, and coordinate work execution - whether carried out by Rolls-Royce field service teams or by approved Part 145 suppliers.

You'll play a key role in ensuring aircraft are returned to service on schedule, preventing AOG events, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

This role offers a unique blend of technical planning, supplier management, and operational control - ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, 24/7 aerospace environment.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

1. Request of Service & Data Validation

* Receive and process On-Wing service requests from airline customers worldwide, validate maintenance data and technical documentation for completeness and accuracy.

2. Planning & Scheduling

* Build detailed job plans including resource allocation, tooling requirements, and logistical arrangements.
* Schedule and track multiple concurrent On-Wing maintenance events across global regions.
* Maintain visibility of personnel and supplier availability, adjusting plans to optimise utilisation and response time, and ensure planning data is accurately maintained in Rolls-Royce systems.

3. Supplier Management (Part 145 Coordination)

* Act as the primary interface between Rolls-Royce and approved Part 145 maintenance suppliers.
* Confirm supplier capability, manpower availability, and readiness to execute the work.
* Issue and review work instructions, technical instructions, and documentation to ensure clarity of deliverables.
* Coordinate tooling, material, and logistical support to the supplier location.
* Monitor job progress, ensuring performance, quality, and regulatory compliance align with Rolls-Royce standards.
* Escalate supplier performance issues, delays, or non-conformances through established governance channels.
* Maintain records of supplier activity and provide input into supplier performance reviews and audits.
* Support the development and continuous improvement of the Part 145 supplier network.

4. Resource & Logistics Coordination

* Arrange tooling dispatch and return, coordinating with logistics and customs teams for time-critical shipments.
* Manage visa, travel, and airport pass requirements for mechanic.
* Liaise with internal supply chain and export control functions to ensure global compliance.

5. Operational Control & Live Job Support

* Monitor ongoing maintenance events and act as the central communication link between mechanics, suppliers, and customers.
* React swiftly to operational issues such as delays, spares shortages, or technical issues.
* Document lessons learned and contribute to post-job reviews to drive operational improvement.

6. Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

* Maintain professional communication with airline operations centres, internal Rolls-Royce functions, and supplier partners.
