We are now seeking an outstanding Director of Corporate Affairs to join our Executive Leadership Team. Reporting to our new Chief Executive, Jason Killens KAM, this is a pivotal role, providing senior-level leadership of the Trust\'s corporate governance, legal, patient experience, and information governance functions. Acting as the senior advisor to the Chair, Chief Executive and Board, you will ensure that LAS meets the highest standards of governance, regulatory compliance, and public accountability.


Main duties of the job

You will lead on Board and committee governance, ensuring effective agenda setting, information flow, and decision-tracking. You will maintain and develop the Board Assurance Framework, support strategic decision-making, and advise on all corporate governance matters, particularly where political or public sensitivity is a factor. Your remit will also encompass oversight of complaints, legal services, PALS, and patient experience, ensuring that learning from feedback informs service improvement.

You will manage a skilled team, provide visible and motivational leadership, and ensure that corporate governance systems are fit for purpose and responsive to changing demands.

Person Specification


Experience

* Significant experience of working at a senior level in similar organisation
* Working closely with directors and senior managers of the organisation
* Effectively managing and preparing Board papers
* Considerable experience of quality monitoring of Board level submissions
* Effective cross-team and cross-discipline working
* Policy development within a large organisation


Qualifications

* First degree or equivalent
* Masters level post grad quals. ICSA or equivalent
* Qualified Chartered Secretary
