Job Title: Permanent Way - Section Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Way - Section Manager to join our AIW/IM account in Treforest. This is an on-site role within the infrastructure management of the railway network from Cardiff to Treherbert, Aberdare, Merthyr Tydfil, Coryton, Rhymney, and Cwmbargoed, known as the Core Valleys Lines. The role involves maintaining the P-Way network, delivering maintenance, inspections, and renewals safely and in compliance with standards, legislation, and Amey procedures.
Standard hours of work are 35 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
* Planning and scheduling maintenance and renewal works
* Conducting SVI inspections on tracks
* Carrying out CAB rides across the network in accordance with standards
* Reviewing and signing off inspections
* Analyzing track geometry recordings with the engineering team
* Leading safe working practices and ensuring compliance
* Adhering to Amey's safety and operational standards
* Maintaining accurate site records for monitoring purposes
* Ensuring safety briefs and tool box talks are conducted prior to work
* Managing site deliverables, including ordering and receipt of goods and plant
* Supervising subcontractors, contract staff, and labor
* Performing line and people management duties, including performance reviews and staff development
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience in track maintenance and renewals planning and delivery
* Ability to interpret engineering and technical drawings
* Environmental awareness
* COSS certification
* TR06 and 053/054 S&C competencies
* IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent (preferred)
* PTS certification
* Effective communication and problem-solving skills
* Experience managing a team
* Commercial awareness
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
* Full UK driving license
