Join Our Team as a Design Manager!
We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Manager in our Eastern South Construction team, located in the vibrant town of Witham, Essex. This is a full-time, permanent position where you can make a real impact!

Your Responsibilities
As a Design Manager, you will be at the forefront of a variety of projects across sectors such as Education, Healthcare, MOD, and MOJ, with project values ranging from £20m to £80m. Your day-to-day activities will include:
* Managing and delivering design information in line with the agreed design programme and deliverable schedule.
* Ensuring our appointed design consultants fulfill their duties, while rigorously checking their returns for compliance with standards and briefs.
* Providing design input during both the preconstruction and construction phases of projects.
* Assessing, mitigating, and managing design-related risks, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and sustainable building standards like BREEAM .
* Producing design programmes, scopes, responsibility matrices, appointments, and schedules.
* Recording progress and conducting upline reporting.
* Attending and chairing necessary meetings and workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ensuring that designs comply with relevant legislation and technical requirements.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you have:
* Demonstrable experience in a design role within a main contractor environment or architectural practice, particularly with large-scale construction projects.
* A relevant construction qualification (Degree / HND or equivalent) in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, etc.
* Experience with BIM Level 2 projects .
