Children's Social Worker - Kinship & Fostering
Herefordshire Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join our Kinship and Fostering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and their families.
We offer:
A competitive salary of £35,235 - £39,513 (plus a market supplement of £5,000 per year, totaling £40,235 - £44,513), a relocation package of up to £10,000, and a welcome payment of £10,000.
Working hours: 37 hours
Responsibilities:
What will you be responsible for:
As a Children's Social Worker, you will be responsible for undertaking comprehensive assessments of children and families, developing and implementing care plans, and ensuring the safety and well-being of children in kinship and fostering placements. You will work collaboratively with families, foster carers, and other professionals to provide holistic support and achieve positive outcomes for children.
Specifically the activities will be:
Your activities will include conducting home visits, attending case conferences, maintaining accurate records, and regularly reviewing care plans. You will also be responsible for liaising with other agencies, including schools, health professionals, and the police.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a relevant Social Work qualification (e.g., Social Work Degree) and be registered with the HCPC.
Experience in safeguarding is essential, and experience working with specific vulnerable groups would be advantageous.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills are required.
