If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join Fife Council's Business Technology Solutions service in our dynamic RMS Competency Centre team, as a Technical Specialist. Our Resource Management Solutions (RMS) Competency Centre is responsible for supporting and developing the Oracle Cloud Strategic Platform (which includes Finance, Procurement, HR & Payroll, Learning, and Recruitment functions). We strive to maximize the benefit from our investment in Oracle Cloud and ensure the seamless operation of its core functions. Our continuous improvement efforts include implementing new functionality and providing testing support and guidance to Subject Matter Experts. An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the team, improving and supporting the Oracle Cloud platform. You will be responsible for leading on major pieces of Improvement work, working closely with the Business, Subject Matter Experts, and Partner organisations to deliver on a busy roadmap, as well as the Platform’s regular Quarterly Release cycle. There is also an ongoing project bringing in new modules to the platform (Inventory & Warehouse Management), and you will be involved in that project helping to transition the new functionality into the team. You will be responsible for supervising staff in the team, scoping, allocating and monitoring work, assisting with release management, report development managing testing cycles (including UAT and SIT) Responsibilities will include • Identifying, evaluating and recommending options, implementing if required. • Allocating responsibilities and/or packages of work. Providing support and guidance as required • Coordinating work within a team, including the evaluation of completed work • Understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution. • Collaborating with stakeholder groups • Coordinating and managing planning of the system and/or acceptance tests, including software security testing, within a development or integration project or programme. The Person You will be able to demonstrate : • Educated to SCQF level 8 which includes HND or SVQ level 4 or equivalent in a computing/systems or related discipline or equivalent relevant experience • Substantial understanding of the ICT Industry • Knowledge of ITIL process such as problem, change and incident management • Ability to manage conflicting demands • Experience of analysing problems and determining appropriate and practical solutions • Good knowledge and understanding of the security implications within the area of control • Experience in and coordinating work within a team, including the evaluation of completed work • Experience of collaborative working with both internal staff and external organisations • Understanding of integrations between systems You will be able to demonstrate you can adhere to agreed ICT standards and deliver an excellent service to both Services within the Council and Partnership projects This post is subject to a basic disclosure check which will be undertaken by Disclosure Scotland.
