Douglas House is a 30-bedded dementia residential home we specialise in supporting people who have varying needs as a result of physical and long-term neurological conditions, including cancer care, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, epilepsy, brain injury, Huntington’s disease, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease, spina bifida & hydrocephalus, and stroke.
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Support Worker to join the team!
What You’ll be Doing
* Assist residents with personal care and daily living activities.
* Support residents in developing and maintaining their independence.
* Help residents with meal preparation, medication management, and household tasks.
* Provide emotional support and companionship.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
* Ensure a safe and clean-living environment for residents.
What You’ll Need
* Minimum of 1+ years’ experience as a support worker
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Compassionate and empathetic approach to care.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
