12‑hour shifts (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am). Week 1: 4 night shifts, 3 days off. Week 2: 3 day shifts, 1 day off, 3 night shifts. Week 3: 3 days off, 4 day shifts. Then: 7 days off.
Overview
The Electrical Shift Engineer will support site operations by carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across electrical plant and equipment. The role requires strong fault‑finding skills, a proactive approach to maintenance, and the ability to work safely and effectively within a busy industrial environment.
Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and complete all associated documentation accurately.
* Conduct fault finding, planned maintenance, and reactive repairs on electrical plant and equipment.
* Support team members as required to ensure smooth and safe site operations.
* Complete electrical installations, modifications, and system upgrades.
* Supervise visiting subcontractors, ensuring safe working practices and high‑quality workmanship.
* Maintain a flexible approach to support operational needs.
* Ensure all work complies with site safety standards and statutory requirements.
Skills & Experience
* Recognised electrical qualification or time‑served experience.
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations - advantageous but not essential.
* Experience working with:
o Power supplies
o Lighting systems
o Meters
o Circuit boards
o Pumps
* Strong ability to diagnose electrical faults and carry out effective repairs.
* Experience with HV switching - advantageous.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation skills.
