PASTORAL SUPPORT OFFICER NEEDED!

Start Date: September 2026
37 Hours Per Week | Term Time Only
We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic Pastoral Support Officer to join a supportive secondary school environment.
The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day running of the school’s Internal Exclusion Room, providing learners with a safe and structured environment to continue learning, reflect on behaviour, and successfully reintegrate into mainstream lessons.

* Experience working with children or young people within an educational setting
* Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills
* Experience using restorative approaches
* Ability to support vulnerable learners and pupils with ALN
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* A calm, professional, and supportive approach
* Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion practices
* Enhanced DBS check required for this role
Main Responsibilities
* Supervising and supporting learners within the Internal Exclusion Room
* Delivering targeted learning tasks and restorative conversations
* Supporting learner reintegration back into mainstream lessons
* Maintaining accurate behaviour records and reports
* Liaising with senior leadership, teachers, pastoral staff, and parents/carers
* Supporting pupils with additional learning and behavioural needs
* Monitoring pupil progress and behaviour impact through follow-up support
* Creating a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
