Vehicle Assembler Job Description
Due to company expansion, we are currently recruiting for Vehicle Assemblers to join our Operations team. Working on a production line, you will be paired with an experienced VA who will assist you in your learning. Training will include observation of vehicle stage build, building with a VA, building with a VA observing, and then building solo when signed off. Beyond training, you will work on a stage (lasting between 50 minutes to 4 hours depending on the build) using supplied materials and tools.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Undertake manufacturing duties as specified by line manager – converting vehicles for wheelchair users
2. Read and understand basic mechanical drawings and SOPs
3. Skillfully use a wide range of air and hand tools
4. Follow a defined process without deviation
5. Promote 5S and efficient manufacturing
6. Complete all necessary company documentation
Ideally, candidates will come from a Manufacturing/Production background and be capable of working to defined processes and standards while maintaining high quality. The ability to work efficiently and accurately, ensuring vehicles are delivered to customers on time, is essential. A driving license is preferred but not essential.
The hourly rate starts at £11 per hour + bonus, with potential to earn more through a grading structure. Working hours are Monday - Wednesday 7am - 6pm and Thursday 7am - 5.30pm, with no work on Fridays.
