About the Role
The Paediatric Haematology Department at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital is seeking a locum consultant to support the general haematology service, including haemoglobinopathy, haemostasis & thrombosis, and laboratory haematology. The post holder will work alongside the existing Consultant Paediatric Haematologists for general haematology.
The haemoglobinopathy and hemostasis services are the largest units outside of London, with over 400 registered haemoglobinopathy and over 400 registered inherited bleeding disorder patients. Manchester is the sickle cell coordinating centre for the North West and thalassaemia coordinating centre for North England. The unit is active in research, clinical trials and stem cell therapies, and has recently been designated as one of the three centres in England delivering gene therapy for sickle cell disease and thalassaemia. It is also a comprehensive care centre for patients with bleeding disorders.

* On‑call rota
