As a Boat Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and transportation of the boats and equipment of the Eton College Boat Club (ECBC) fleet, under the direction of the Senior Boat Technician. You will also assist with the maintenance, cleaning, and safe administration of ECBC boathouses and support the smooth running of events at Eton and other locations during busy periods throughout the year.

Main Duties
Boat/Fleet responsibilities:
* Carry out routine maintenance and refurbishment of ECBC rowing, safety, and coaching equipment, after initial triage by the Senior Boat Technician.
* Transport boats or personnel by road or river as instructed by the Senior Boat Technician or the Head of Rowing, related to boats, coaches, or the external racing fleet.
General responsibilities:
* Accompany ECBC on away fixtures as directed, including various races and assessment weekends throughout the year.
* Rig boats as requested by the Senior Boat Technician or coaches of external racing crews.
* Assist at ECBC bumping races and internal events.
* Help transport ECBC equipment to and from training camps abroad.

The Ideal Candidate
To succeed, candidates should:
* Have extensive knowledge of rowing.
* Understand water safety issues and be able to instill this importance in young people.
* Build strong individual relationships.
* Enjoy working with young people.
* Be reliable and punctual.
* Possess a minibus and trailer driving license and/or an RYA Level Two Powerboating certificate (desirable but not essential).
* Have a passion for boat building, repairs, maintenance, and carpentry. Previous experience is highly desirable.
Working Pattern
* This is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, onsite at Dorney Lake.
* Hours may extend during term time, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends, with time off in lieu during holidays. Exact hours are to be agreed with your line manager.
* Entitled to 21 days of annual leave plus 8 bank holidays. When a bank holiday falls during term, it is a working day with a day off in lieu.
