Communications Assistant (Part Time, Temporary) Location: Kings Langley / Kettering / Bedfordshire (Hybrid – 1 day office, 1 day home) Pay Rate: £144 day rate (£15,000 pro rata) Duration: Minimum 5 weeks, with likely extension through April and May Working Pattern: Part time – 2 days per week (Tuesday–Thursday flexibility) Start Date: ASAP We are currently recruiting for a Communications Assistant to support a busy brand and communications function on a temporary, part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or junior communications professional with strong writing and editing skills to gain valuable hands-on experience within an established organisation. This role will focus on editing and adapting existing content, supporting communications projects, and coordinating multiple ongoing activities. You will play a key role in helping to promote the organisation’s culture, achievements and heritage through clear, engaging communications. Key Responsibilities Editing, proofreading and adapting existing copy for newsletters, internal and external communications, and marketing materials Repurposing and refining content to ensure clarity, consistency and engagement Supporting the delivery of communications, brand and heritage-related projects Coordinating multiple ongoing projects and maintaining trackers to monitor progress and deadlines Undertaking research to support communications and heritage initiatives Supporting the coordination and delivery of events and engagement activities Maintaining and updating information libraries and archive materials Providing administrative and organisational support to ensure projects remain on schedule Liaising with internal teams and external suppliers where required Candidate Requirements We welcome applications from graduates, but candidates must demonstrate: Excellent written communication skills, including experience editing or producing copy Strong attention to detail, particularly grammar, spelling and formatting Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to work independently and proactively from a brief Strong administrative and coordination skills A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to support a variety of tasks Desirable Experience Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing or similar Previous communications, marketing, editorial or administrative experience Experience editing, proofreading or repurposing content Interest in brand, communications, storytelling, or heritage projects
