Assistant / Junior Project Manager (Design)
Location: Manchester with hybrid working if required and site visits

About the Role
We are looking for an Assistant / Junior Project Manager (Design) to support the delivery of water and multidisciplinary design projects. You will either manage the delivery of simple design projects or assist senior project managers on more complex schemes, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
This role is ideal for a graduate or early-career professional with experience in regulated industries and a strong interest in developing a career in project management.
Key Responsibilities
Manage or support the delivery of multidisciplinary water design projects
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within cost, and in line with client specifications
Coordinate and manage commercial and contractual requirements, including NEC contracts
Develop, update, and manage project programmes
Maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction
Report project progress, risks, and performance to senior management
Coordinate effectively with internal design teams and the external supply chain
Support the preparation of tenders for water design projects with input from engineering teams
Required Qualifications & Experience
Graduate or HND qualification (engineering or related discipline preferred)
2-5 years' experience in one or more of the following:
Engineering design in a regulated industry
Project engineering in a regulated industry
Project management of engineering design or construction
Design management
Experience working in regulated industries such as:
Water (essential)
Rail
Oil & Gas
Nuclear
Highways
Bridges
Strong interest and enthusiasm for project management
Preferred Experience
Experience working on multidisciplinary projects
Ability to lead and coordinate diverse, multidisciplinary teams
Knowledge of different contract types, including NEC and fixed-cost contracts
Experience managing change and design variations
Experience managing or contributing to design delivery
Commercial and contractual awareness
Understanding of project programmes and cost control
