About this role and you:
We are seeking a Finance Assistant who is diligent, organised and accurate, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to working with integrity. The role requires someone who can process and reconcile a wide range of accounting transactions efficiently, ensuring work is consistently completed right first time and on time. The successful candidate will demonstrate reliability, numeracy, and sound judgement, along with the ability to support the Finance Manager in the continuous improvement of financial processes. A proactive approach, willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively within a team that safeguards the company's finances with professionalism and accuracy are essential.
This role will be a full-time permanent position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You will be expected to work predominantly within the office with the rest of the team, but there is an opportunity to work in a hybrid way following successful completion of your probationary period.

About your key responsibilities:
We are looking for our new Finance Assistant to deliver
1. Ownership of regular accounting routines, including:
2. Supplier invoice processing
3. Supplier account reconciliation
4. AP system integration to Finance system
5. Supplier payment preparation
6. Employee reimbursement processing and payments
7. Credit card reconciliation
8. Customer account reconciliation
9. Bank receipts and payment processing
10. Bank accounts reconciliation
11. Petty cash management, posting and reconciliations
12. Checking and posting HMRC customs/VAT entries
13. Support the Finance Team in day-to-day financial operations and credit control activities, providing cover for other team member duties where necessary
3.Co-ordinate internal approval of general supplier invoices and staff expense payments, and handle customer and supplier account related queries
1. Maintain team processes and actively contribute to process development with a 'can do' approach to problem solving alongside our colleagues in other teams
2. Maintenance of Finance team filing systems
3. Assist with Year-end audit
4. Ad-hoc duties as requested
About your skills and knowledge:
This position would suit a Finance Assistant who can demonstrate that they are:
* Part qualified or studying towards an accountancy qualification / qualified by experience
* Have a can-do attitude, be open minded and flexible in approach
* Highly organised and efficient
* Excellent administrative skills
* The ability to prioritise and to adapt quickly to changing circumstances
* IT literate with intermediate / advanced Excel skills
* Sound knowledge of Accounting software / ERP systems
* Excellent social and communication skills
* A good team player
