Volunteer Chair of the Board - Staffordshire Network for Mental Health (SNfMH)
Lead a small, committed mental health charity through a pivotal chapter. SNfMH is seeking a new Chair to guide its board and strengthen strategic direction.

What are we looking for? We’re looking for someone who can lead with empathy, strategy, and clarity - guiding a small charity through change and championing mental health in the community. Essential: Commitment to SNfMH’s values and mission, Strategic thinking and good judgment, Inclusive, collaborative leadership style, Confident communicator and facilitator, Willingness to represent the charity externally. Desirable: Experience leading through change, Knowledge of charity governance and finance, Familiarity with the mental health, health, or voluntary sectors.
What will you be doing? Use your leadership to protect and grow a vital local mental health charity. As Chair, you'll Lead the Board in setting SNfMH’s vision and strategic direction, Ensure strong governance, regulatory compliance and collective accountability, Support and collaborate with the Vice Chair and operational leads, Champion inclusion, wellbeing, and strategic resilience, Act as an ambassador and spokesperson for the charity when appropriate.
You’ll chair at least six board meetings per year, ensure that trustee decisions are actioned, and help maintain a positive, inclusive board culture. You’ll also lead succession planning, board performance reviews, and risk oversight. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with prior board or leadership experience who believes in the power of community-based mental health support.
