Child and Adolescent Mental Health services in Tower Hamlets are evolving and transforming our local CAMHS services. We are developing and expanding our CAMHS Complex Needs team and are looking for a candidate with the commitment to support young people with severe and complex mental health needs.

Responsibilities
* The post holders will be part of a multidisciplinary team offering goal-based and outcome-focused episodes of care to young people, children and families with severe and complex mental health difficulties.
* Work collaboratively with other clinical pathways in TH CAMHS, trialing and innovating new methods of responding to young people with complex needs and high risk requiring more than routine care over a longer period of time.
* Communicate effectively within multi-disciplinary and multi-agency contexts and deliver treatment tailored to CYP needs.
* Adopt a flexible and adaptive approach, grounded in solid evidence-based practice, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

In conjunction with partners in commissioning, health, social care, and education, we deliver an outcome-based service where all provider agencies work together to provide high-quality care to our clients. The service embraces continual improvement, with staff and management focused on quality improvement. The Emotional and Behavioral pathways assess and provide a range of evidence-based treatments and interventions for children, young people, and families in this busy East London CAMHS service. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of our complex needs team, offering an accessible, flexible, timely, and responsive CAMHS service with comprehensive needs assessments and risk assessments informing holistic care plans in collaboration with other agencies. Our ethos is to provide the right treatment, at the right time and in the right place for the CYP of Tower Hamlets.

Person Specification
Essential:
* Two years post-registration experience in mental health
* Experience of working with children and young people’s mental health
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Experience of assessing and managing risk in service users with complex needs and/or EIS, including specialist assessments (e.g., cognitive assessments)
* Experience of working with young people with acute mental health difficulties in different community settings, including providing specialist psychological and systemic interventions
* Experience of assessing children and young people with complex mental health needs including neurodiversity
Knowledge:
* Knowledge of mental health issues relating to children, young people and families
* Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to children and young people
* Sensitivity to cultural differences within East London communities
* Understanding of equal opportunities
Qualifications:
* Qualification in clinical psychology and/or family therapy
Desirable:
* Evidence of post-registration training (e.g., Mentorship, CBT, DBT, Family Therapy)
* Evidence of CAMHS-specific training
Skills & Abilities:
* Conduct comprehensive mental health and risk assessments including specialist assessments (e.g., cognitive, neurodiversity)
* Case formulation and appropriate care planning
* Manage own caseload effectively
* Willingness to embrace change creatively
* Ability to liaise and consult with fellow professionals and other agencies
