Business Director (12 months FTC - maternity cover – starting April 2025)



Overview of job


Creating insightful, accountable communication strategies and campaigns that drive business success through content downloads and rentals for NBCUniversal across LATAM, EMEA, and APAC. Lead strategy, insight, and media planning in collaboration with the Business Director and planning team to deliver campaigns across 15+ markets.


This role focuses on NBCUniversal's Home Entertainment division, responsible for Digital Sales and Rentals. You’ll work on upcoming movie releases such as Jurassic World Rebirth, Downton Abbey 3, and Wicked Part 2.



Business Director – Strategy & Planning


The Business Director must deeply understand our client’s business and the home entertainment landscape, applying this knowledge to lead strategy workstreams and market updates. They will be the primary client contact for consumer research and will ensure strategies are translated into planning and activation across disciplines.


The NBCUniversal International team handles strategy, market coordination, insight, and pan-regional buying for Home Entertainment across LATAM, EMEA, and APAC.



Reporting of the role

This role reports to the Global Account Director for NBCUniversal.

Responsibilities of the role:

The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to:


Client Service / Leadership:

* Build strong relationships with NBC Universal’s marketing team and lead the strategic client relationship.
* Address key business challenges and communicate effectively with senior global stakeholders.
* Lead and inspire multifunctional teams, ensuring strategy delivery across media plans.
* Provide thought leadership on media and entertainment trends and consumer engagement.


Strategy & Planning:

* Deliver media strategy guidelines leveraging research and audience insights for title planning.
* Account for title, genre, format, and local market nuances in strategies and rationales.
* Share perspectives on the client’s overall communications across paid, owned, and earned media.
* Collaborate with the Digital Director to incorporate testing and campaign insights into strategies.
* Lead planning teams to ensure strategic alignment.
* Keep clients informed about changes in consumer and entertainment landscapes.


Finance and Operational:

* Ensure accurate timesheet and expense reporting by the planning and buying teams.
* Oversee financial approval, invoicing, and troubleshooting.


What you will need:

* Genuine enthusiasm for film and entertainment.
* Positive, motivating attitude that champions team successes.
* Strategic communication planning and implementation skills across media.
* Knowledge of pan-regional and local media landscapes.
* Excellent presentation skills (written and verbal).
* Familiarity with consumer research tools like TGI, Telmar, YouGov, Web Index.
* Strong communication and relationship management skills.
* Leadership qualities with integrity and professionalism.


Key Experience

* Experience in film or entertainment sectors is a plus.
* Managing senior stakeholders and complex client organizations.
* Media and communications planning experience.
