Head4Talent is working exclusively with a leading distribution business based in Pembrokeshire that is currently experiencing significant growth. To help with this expansion they are looking to hire a Financial Controller to join their leadership team at this exciting time. This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of one day a week in the Pembroke Dock office.
Duties
Working closely with the Group Finance Director you will be responsible for the efficient and compliant management of the companies finances and resources. Your work will ensure the financial health, viability, and long-term sustainability of the business. You will report directly to the Group Finance Director and support senior management in all financial and commercial matters.
Financial Management:
* Oversee all company accounts, including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and compliance
* Reconciliations Full balance sheet reconciliations.
* Taxation Quarterly VAT returns. UK, Ireland, France.
* Payroll Oversee accurate processing of payroll for employees. Including P11ds
* Reporting: Preparation of weekly finance pack. Preparation of monthly management accounts within 8 working days.
* Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist with the budgeting process, monitor financial performance against budgets, and provide variance analysis.
* Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the company's financial stability and support operational needs.
* Audit and Compliance: Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and financial regulations.
* Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance and admin team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
* Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
* System Implementation: Collaborate with senior management to develop financial systems that support the company's growth and profitability goals.
* External Reporting; Submit quarterly Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) reports
Qualifications and Experience:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or equivalent qualification with substantial relevant experience.
* Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, VAT, payroll and tax regulations.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
* Experience with accounting and ERP systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, or similar).
* Experience in a senior finance role within a medium to large business.
* Prior experience in managing a finance team.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
