Casual Museum Events Assistant
We are looking for Casual Museum Events Assistants to work in our private hire events team across our five museums, including M Shed and Bristol Museum & Art Gallery. If you enjoy delivering great customer service and love supporting events, then read on.
Our focus is on increasing income from private events at our museums. To achieve this, we need to provide excellent customer service by helping clients enjoy their events, ensuring the safe running of events, supporting clients as needed, and caring for our collection of over 2 million objects. We are introducing new events alongside our current offerings, and you will play a key role in their success, as well as supporting our public events program.
The private events team consists of four permanent staff on a rota and a casual team providing additional support. We work closely with our venue partner, who manages catering, while you help prepare venues, support contractors and staff, and unlock/lock the venues. In the coming months, we expect to be busy hosting events throughout the week, including some early mornings and daytime shifts. We are seeking individuals willing to work several shifts across the week, including weekends, and who enjoy being hands-on team members supporting various types of events.

This role is primarily evening work (from 5 pm until late), with some weekday and weekend daytime shifts expected. You will mainly work at M Shed and Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, with other venues across the city hosting events as well.
