Overall Goal of Position:
The Costco Sales Manager is responsible for achieving volume objectives, forecast accuracy, promotional execution, distribution targets, new item speed to shelf, SRP management, and retail execution. The role involves delivering creative, fact-based solutions, managing trade spend, and providing thought leadership to build Sauer Brands' presence at assigned customers.
Job Summary:
Manage, monitor, and evaluate the overall business plan to meet volume, profit, and share objectives. Focus on achieving sales targets for Costco divisions, maintaining customer relationships, and managing trade plans and SKU profitability. Reports to the Chief Sales Officer.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Achieve sales objectives and execute account plans and brand strategies.
* Optimize MAPS (Merchandising, Assortment, Pricing, Shelving) for assigned accounts.
* Create and manage trade spending plans supporting marketing and promotional activities.
* Develop customer plans within budget to meet objectives.
* Present category reviews and business plans to customers and Costco divisions.
* Lead regional broker sales teams with strong management skills.
* Collaborate cross-functionally for timely business updates.
* Manage trade planning, data entry, and post-event analysis.
Performance Standards:
* Business objectives including revenue, margins, distribution, and trade spend.
* Brand health metrics such as share growth and velocity.
* Spending effectiveness focusing on pricing and trade spend optimization.
* Personal effectiveness, leadership, and teamwork aligned with SBI values.
Candidate Profile:
* Entrepreneurial, results-oriented, confident, creative, and ethical.
* Proven track record of performance improvement and delivering objectives.
* Strong relationship-building skills and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, TPM, and forecasting tools.
* Educational background with a BS/BA degree; advanced degree preferred.
* 10-15 years of CPG sales experience, with significant Costco engagement.
* Willing to travel approximately 25%.
