Band 3 Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Assistant

We aim to empower people to live well and we also aim to be the best employer; weknow that the people working in our teams are the key to our success.An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and caring individual to join our KentCommunity Health NHS Foundation Trust Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Service as a ClinicalBand 3 Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Assistant.This role involves supporting our Physiotherapists to deliver physical programmes of care,both in a group setting and on a one to one basis. You will be responsible for non-clinical taskssuch as ordering equipment, maintaining and cleaning equipment, administrative dutiessurrounding the group exercise classes and general tidiness of the department.You will need excellent communication skills, to support patients to undertake prescribedphysical rehabilitation programmes and to be able to motivate and persuade patients toovercome barriers to physical activity and also promote healthy lifestyle choices.You will also be responsible for your own documentation using Trust software andadministration tasks as required.Delivering group programmes is a key part of this role, as well as supporting patients todevelop long term self-management strategies, linking into resources available in the localcommunity.


Main duties of the job

This post is based in our MSK Physiotherapy Departments between the Queen VictoriaMemorial Hospital, Herne Bay and Whitstable and Tankerton Hospital.However, you may be required to deliver services at our other sites as required dependent onservice need within East Kent at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Folkestone, Victoria Hospital, Dealand West View Integrated Care Centre, Tenterden. Owning or having access to your own caris therefore essential to the role. Car travel costs are reimbursed for travel within workinghours.You will need a good level of basic IT skills, as some duties will also be done virtually. KCHFTutilises electronic patient records, as well as a number of electronic staff systems.We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to fill this post, ideally with experience in a healthpromotion, exercise or health and social care setting.

Job responsibilities

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy/ GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths)
* Relevant level 3 qualification (NVQ / QCF Diploma or certificate of care / Advanced apprenticeship) or equivalent


Experience

* Experience of working as part of a team
* Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of IT packages
* Experience within community healthcare setting
* Experience as a Healthcare Assistant / Worker in a health or social care setting


Knowledge

* Awareness of developments in the NHS
* Knowledge of up to date clinical practice
* Understands the role and remit of unregistered worker


Skills and Abilities

* Sound communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
* Ability to organise own workload
* Ability to cope with change
* Ability to use own initiative


Skills and Abilities

* Full UK driving licence and owns or has access to their own can and ability to drive between sites


Ability to Manage

* Ability to prioritise care delivery in a professional manner, considering Trust policies and procedures
* Ability to manage own time effectively
