The Mechanical Supervisor is a key role within the Maintenance team, supporting the safe operation of assets, plant productivity, and reliability. As the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will:
Report directly to the Maintenance Manager and oversee Mechanical Maintenance Technicians and Mechanical Shift Maintenance Technicians.
The role involves managing all mechanical maintenance tasks, ensuring safety standards are upheld, and industry regulations are followed to maintain the site as a top-tier COMAH site.
You will work closely with operations to meet quality requirements related to ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO14001, and cGMP, including cross-contamination prevention.
Responsibilities include taking full accountability for all Mechanical Maintenance activities, ensuring tasks are completed safely and promptly, and collaborating with the Planning & Scheduling team and Site Engineers to enhance plant reliability.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Accountabilities:
* Maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental standards during all work activities, including breakdowns, PMs, compliance work, and defect management.
* Manage daily operations of the Mechanical Maintenance team, including work allocation, reviewing work packs, and ensuring RAMS are adequate.
* Monitor progress, communicate updates, and ensure work orders are closed in the CMMS system.
* Take responsibility for priority work from defect raising to completion, including PRs, contracting, and RAMS creation.
* Document and close out work in the Maintenance Management System.
* Handle timekeeping, holidays, disciplinary matters, and deputize for the Maintenance Manager.
* Work with the Planner to develop job packs, RAMS, and schedules, aiming for accurate weekly planning.
* Contribute to root cause analyses and follow-up actions to improve equipment performance and reliability.
* Provide first-line problem solving for mechanical faults and work delivery issues.
* Engage in continuous improvement activities, ensuring PMs are properly raised and executed.
SHEQ Management
* Ensure all Environmental, Health & Safety requirements are met during maintenance activities.
* Promote a positive safety culture within the team.
* Carry out work safely according to company guidelines.
* Report accidents, near misses, and safety improvements.
Equipment Management
* Ensure timely completion of PMs, compliance, and regulatory work orders.
* Supervise Mechanical Technicians, prioritizing work according to site needs.
* Support projects and changeovers as required.
* Coordinate with OEM contractors for inspections and plan future PM activities.
