To support the development of a new single Patient Identification Centre service for primary care on behalf of the Leeds GP Confederation and act as a central communication link on primary care research issues within Leeds.
The post holder will be expected to build trust, confidence, and goodwill in relation to research activity within primary care in Leeds. They will work with other stakeholders including Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Leeds Community Health NHS Trust, Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, West Yorkshire R&D, and the NIHR Yorkshire and Humber RRDN in a matrix environment to promote wider participation in research activities across the city.
Main duties of the job
* Understand, develop, and lead on the implementation of a new Patient Identification Centre service for GP Practices across Leeds, addressing relevant governance challenges as required.
* Contribute to the city's ambition to expand research opportunities across General Practice within Leeds in line with NIHR's strategic ambitions.
* Engage with GP practices to participate in the programme, enabling patients and colleagues maximum opportunity to be involved in research activity.
Work within the Leeds GP Confederation to undertake initial study feasibility in areas such as:
* Underserved communities
* Disease prevalence
* Management of long-term conditions
* GP practice research preferences
Collaborate with partners to ensure financial allocations and flow procedures reflect activity as per research contracts. Provide study-level guidance to GPs, answer queries, disseminate expressions of interest, facilitate study uptake, and liaise with WY R&D and NIHR RRDN regarding study and primary care approval processes.

Job Purpose
