Salary £29,722.00 per annum (inclusive of on call / standby, which equates to an additional £1,950 per annum)
Benefits include a company vehicle, company pension scheme, BUPA (single cover), 33 days holiday (including bank holidays). Overtime is available at time and a half. Technicians are paid DOOR to DOOR.
On Call / Standby: 1 week in 4
Hours: 40 hours a week – Monday to Friday (8:30 am to 5:00 pm)
Our client is a leading UK provider of innovative construction and engineering solutions across various sectors including Retail, Health, Education, and Commercial.
Due to a recent contract win with a national supermarket retailer, our client is recruiting an experienced Joiner to maintain multiple retail stores across the specified locations and surrounding areas.
Job Purpose
This key role involves carrying out planned and reactive building maintenance across retail stores. Responsibilities include basic joinery, lighting, lock changes, and minor repairs.
The role focuses on non-technical repairs and minor PPMs, assisting with planned and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance at various sites alongside your Regional Electrician.
All work must adhere to the highest standards, be efficient, cost-effective, and comply with the company's Health and Safety policies.
Key Accountabilities
* Undertake planned and reactive maintenance and fabric works according to contractual KPIs.
* Report repair and maintenance issues to the building manager that could affect building operations.
* Perform minor alterations and installations per current specifications.
* Carry out general repairs, including plumbing, joinery, lock changes, painting, PAT testing, and drainage, as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
* Assist other Technicians/Engineers on site when needed.
* Ensure all tools and equipment required for maintenance are available and in good condition.
Candidate Background & Experience
* Hold a building trade qualification (NVQ / City & Guilds), preferably in Joinery, Building, or Plumbing.
* Experience in general plumbing, joinery, tiling, plastering, and PPMs.
* Ability to maintain and repair various building fabrics.
* Willing to work flexible hours.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Comfortable working at heights and using steps and ladders.
