School Crossing Patrol Officer - St John's CE School, Buckhurst Hill
Permanent, Part Time
£13.00 per hour

Working Style:
Support your local community by joining Essex County Council’s School Crossing Patrol Team at St John's CE Primary School, Buckhurst Hill.
This role involves supporting students in crossing the road safely in the mornings and afternoons, ensuring pedestrian safety in the surrounding areas.
We seek punctual, reliable, approachable individuals who enjoy engaging with the public.
This position is approximately 7.5 hours per week, during 39 weeks of the academic year, with shifts of 45 minutes between 08:00 - 09:00 and 14:45 - 15:45, depending on site needs. Uniform, equipment, and training are provided.
Responsibilities:
* Consider the needs of people with disabilities, especially mobility-impaired pedestrians.
* Maintain contact with the schools served by the crossing.
* Assess risks at the crossing site and report issues.
* Assist in preparing reports on incidents at the crossing.
* Maintain and request replacements for uniform and equipment as needed.
* Signal clearly to drivers to stop traffic and ensure it remains stopped until pedestrians have crossed.
