Laboratory Operations department offers routine testing service for the analysis of T-cells to aid in the diagnosis of, and investigation of infectious diseases using the T-SPOT technology as well as innovative research techniques. ODL within Lab ops provides a UKAS accredited diagnostic service to UK clinical services, and the Certimmune function within lab ops participates in ground-breaking research including collaboration with Pharma companies.
This position is a member of the Laboratory Operations Technical team and is specifically responsible for supporting and working on Technical transfer of new tests and processes and continuous improvement projects.
Please note there will be occasional weekend required
Role Description:
1. Working closely with the Technical Supervisor, this role is responsible for conducting experiments, validation and verification testing, data analysis and completion of associated documentation to support projects related to technical transfer and continuous improvement.
2. Liaise with the Quality team on all levels of documentation. Create, review, and publish department specific SOPs and reports using the company’s electronic document management system.
3. Ensure that any likely delays or issues with a given project are communicated to their line Manager in a timely manner. Assist with the resolution of analytical issues as they occur.
4. Responsible for sample receipt, storage, and management of Cryopreserved samples within the department.
5. Prioritize workload to ensure key objectives agreed with Manager are met in a timely manner.
6. Perform duties in other teams and departments, e.g., collaborate with the R&D team for Certimmune assay development and qualifications, act as deputy for ODL routine testing to meet critical company objectives as required.
7. Ensure that the Quality Management System, including regulatory requirements (GcP and ISO 17025:2015) are always adhered to and in all aspects of the job.

Role Requirements:
Essential qualifications, skills, and abilities
9. Master’s degree or equivalent in a life sciences discipline. Minimum of 1 year’s relevant work experience and ‘hands-on’ knowledge working in a laboratory.
10. Knowledge of Windows and Office bases applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
11. Requires the analytical skills necessary to plan for, design or enhance highly‑complex systems and processes, able to resolve problems.
12. Organizational/time management; able to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
13. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively at all levels.
