Job summary
We are looking for a well-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Pharmacy Procurement team within the Hospital Pharmacy Department, working part-time, 18 hours per week. These hours can be worked flexibly between Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00.
You will work as a Procurement Officer, collaborating closely with the Pharmacy Procurement team and other sections of the Pharmacy Department. This role involves being part of a busy team within a large Hospital Pharmacy Department.
Ideal candidates will thrive in a busy, active environment, possess good communication skills both on the phone and face-to-face, and be adaptable to change with flexible working hours. You should be IT literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, as well as experience working with e-Commerce systems, Excel spreadsheets, and the Pharmacy stock management software Wellsky.
Main duties of the job
1. Process invoices for payment using the Pharmacy stock control system.
2. Reconcile delivery notes and credit notes against invoices and computer-generated orders.
3. Maintain relevant procurement systems in conjunction with the pharmacy computer system to ensure an efficient medicine ordering service.
4. Liaise with pharmaceutical companies regarding invoice discrepancies and purchasing queries.
5. Maintain the procurement filing system.
6. Participate in investigating overdue deliveries and queries, liaising with pharmaceutical companies as needed.
