About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, youll work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to provide personalised learning support for pupils with a range of needs, which may include:
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
ADHD
Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Speech, Language & Communication needs
Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
Youll help create an inclusive environment where every student feels valued, supported, and confident in their abilities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with SEN.
Assist in planning and delivering differentiated learning activities.
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation using agreed strategies.
Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress.
Adapt learning materials to support individual needs.
Support pupils with personal care needs (if required).
Build strong, consistent relationships with pupils, helping them develop independence and confidence.

What Were Looking For
Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school or care background welcomed).
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to stay positive, even in challenging situations.
A genuine desire to make a meaningful impact.
(Desirable) Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification.
(Desirable) Training in Team Teach / MAPA / Autism awareness.
