Deskside Engineer (Edinburgh, Scotland on-site)
Deskside User Support
* Technical On-Site Assistance: provide direct, in-person support to employees experiencing hardware or software issues, ensuring timely resolution to minimize downtime
* Issue Resolution: diagnose and troubleshoot problems related to desktops, laptops, printers and other peripheral devices, applying effective solutions to restore functionality
* User Guidance: offer clear instructions and support to users on the proper use of computer equipment and software applications, enhancing overall user proficiency
Desktop Management Services
* Hardware and Software Installation: oversee the setup, configuration and deployment of computer systems and applications, ensuring compliance with organizational standards
* Software & Patch management: conduct regular updates, patches and preventive maintenance on all desktop systems to mantain optimal performance and security
* Asset management: mantain an accurate inventory of all hardware and software assets, facilitating eficiente resource allocation and lyfecicle management
* Security & Compliance Management: implemente and manage security protocols, including antivírus installation and user access controls, to safeguard against unauthorized access and cyber threats
* Policy Enforcement: ensure adherence to organizational IT policies and procedures, promoting a secure and standardized computing environment
Requirements
* 2-5 years of experience in a deskside, servisse desk support or IT management role.
* Technical skills in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues across various operating systems (Windows, macOS).
* Good understanding of network connectivity, security protocols, and IT best practices.
* Experience with software deployment, patch management, and IT asset management.
* A proactive approach to security and compliance, with experience in implementing and enforcing IT policies.
* Great communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
* Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator) are a plus.
* Onsite role in Edinburgh, 4th Floor, 12 Blenheim Place, Edinburgh, EH7 5JH, UK. 5 days in the office required (no other options). Monday to Friday (8h/day; normal working hours)
* Available to start imediately or Dec 1st 2025
