Location: Leicester
Contract: 6 Months
Rate: £30£35 per hour (DOE)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced DFG Surveyor to join a social housing organisation in Leicester on an initial 6-month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a DFG Surveyor to manage a varied portfolio of Disabled Facilities Grant adaptations, helping residents remain safe and independent in their homes.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake surveys and technical assessments for adaptation works.
* Prepare specifications, schedules of work, drawings, and cost estimates.
* Manage DFG-funded projects from initial referral through to completion.
* Oversee contractors and carry out site inspections.
* Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
* Liaise with occupational therapists, residents, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with building regulations, health and safety requirements, and relevant legislation.
* Certify completed works and maintain accurate project records.
Typical Adaptation Projects
* Level-access showers and wet rooms.
* Stairlifts and through-floor lifts.
* Access ramps and pathways.
* Door widening and accessibility improvements.
* Kitchen adaptations.
* Bespoke disability adaptations.
Requirements
* Previous experience delivering Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) projects.
* Experience within social housing, housing associations, local authorities, or adaptation services.
* Strong technical surveying and project management skills.
* Knowledge of building regulations, construction methods, and health and safety legislation.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* Full UK driving licence preferred.
