We are seeking a Pastoral Support Worker to join our committed team, providing high‑quality support to pupils in line with our organisation’s values, policies and regulatory standards. This is a rewarding role where you’ll play a vital part in helping students—many with autism or additional needs—access education, develop independence, and feel safe, supported and understood.
What you will be doing
1. Supporting teachers and tutors to deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences
2. Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support to help students access the curriculum independently
3. Creating and maintaining positive, autism-friendly learning environments where students can thrive
4. Promoting students' wellbeing, emotional regulation and independence through consistent support
5. Implementing Behaviour Support Plans, Risk Assessments and Pastoral Support Plans effectively
6. Working collaboratively with teachers, care staff, families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a joined-up approach
7. Maintaining accurate records and contributing to meetings, reviews and communication between college and home
8. Assisting with daily routines, personal care where appropriate, and ensuring all safeguarding, health and safety procedures are followed at all times

10. Able to remain calm and confident when managing challenging behaviour.
11. A strong communicator who works well as part of a team.
12. Organised, proactive and willing to learn.
13. Passionate about helping students grow in independence, confidence and self‑belief.
14. Driving licence is desirable due to lots of offsite learning
15. Level 3 certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Colleges desirable
16. Level2 SEN qualification/ working towards desirable
Experience in education, SEN, autism support or care settings is beneficial, but we welcome applications from individuals with the right values and a genuine desire to make a difference.
