Role Summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Supply Planner to join a Supply Chain Management Team on a temporary basis in Leamington Spa. The role will focus on managing material planning, supplier schedules, MRP outputs and inventory levels to support uninterrupted production.
Role & Responsibilities
* Own and manage MRP outputs, ensuring accurate and timely placement of purchase orders.
* Convert demand requirements into supplier schedules and manage delivery performance.
* Maintain system data accuracy, including lead times, MOQ, safety stock and pricing.
* Work closely with production planning to ensure alignment between demand and supply.
* Monitor and manage inventory levels, reducing excess and obsolete stock.
* Develop and execute recovery plans to mitigate supply shortages and disruptions.
* Collaborate with Category Managers on supplier performance and escalation topics.
* Participate in daily production and SIOP meetings to highlight risks and constraints.
* Drive improvements in planning processes and system utilisation.
* Support NPI activities from a supply and planning perspective.
* Ensure timely resolution of invoice and delivery discrepancies.
* Undertake any other duties required to perform the Supply Planner role.
Requirements Of The Role
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in supply planning, materials planning or a similar role.
* Strong experience with MRP/ERP systems.
* Understanding of supply chain planning processes, including demand, supply and inventory.
* Ability to work cross-functionally with production, procurement and logistics teams.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* High attention to detail and data accuracy.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Experience within a manufacturing environment.
Desirable
* APICS CPIM or similar qualification, or willingness to work towards.
* Experience with SIOP / IBP processes.
* Knowledge of manufacturing components such as castings, metals or assemblies.
* Experience in inventory optimisation and planning parameter tuning.
* Previous experience as a Supply Planner would be advantageous.
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m. – 12:30 noon.
