Undertake daily administrative and clerical duties specific to ward area (to be supplied by wards) to support the provision of patient care on the ward, by taking direction from ward managers/matron and nursing staff as appropriate to ensure patient safety and the security and confidentiality of all patient related information. Dealing with queries from service users including General Practitioners, patients and their representatives, in a professional and courteous manner that is consistent with legislation, policies and procedures including data protection and confidentiality, sourcing any relating information that might help deal with the query, taking accurate written messages and passing more complex queries on to relevant staff. Ensure that all work tasks are carried out to a high standard of quality which meets all of the organisations requirements for patient safety, information governance, data protection and confidentiality. Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team on the ward and with staff from other wards/departments and external service users including GPs, patients and their representatives in a professional and courteous manner that is consistent with legislation, policies and procedures including data protection and confidentiality.
All other admin duties as required, supporting the needs of the service and working cross site if required.
