Purpose of the Job

Create and develop complex visual themes, executing them using the latest standards and with the upmost attention to detail. Guide and develop the in-house design team to ensure that marketing material reflects the brand high standards at all times.

Overview of the Role

Our Junior Designer will play a pivotal role in supporting the design team and contributing creative solutions across various projects. As an entry-level position, this role provides an ideal foundation for recent graduates or those early in their design careers to learn, grow, and develop their professional portfolio. Our Junior Designer will collaborate with our senior designer, marketing team, project managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to produce engaging visuals that align with the company's brand, values, and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Work closely with senior designer to assist in the conceptualisation and execution of design projects, including but not limited to digital, print, and multimedia assets.

· Create visually compelling graphics, layouts, and illustrations for websites, social media, marketing collateral, presentations, advertisements, and more.

· Assist in the preparation of files for production, ensuring all assets meet required technical specifications and brand standards.

· Contribute to brainstorming sessions, bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to the team while actively participating in discussions and critiques.

· Support the team in photo editing, retouching, and manipulation to ensure visual consistency and quality across all media.

· Maintain an organised archive of design files, assets, templates, and resources, ensuring all work is backed up and accessible.

· Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and techniques to continually improve design skills and add value to the team.

· Participate in internal briefings to understand project requirements, objectives, and timelines.

· Assist with quality assurance checks, proofreading, and ensuring the accuracy of designs before delivery or publication.

· Collaborate with developers, marketing teams, and other departments as needed to ensure seamless integration of designs into final products or campaigns.

Required Qualifications and Skills

· Bachelor's degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Fine Arts, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

· Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, or similar tools.

· Strong understanding of design principles, typography, colour theory, composition, and visual hierarchy.

· Solid portfolio demonstrating creative and technical skills across a range of design projects.

· Excellent attention to detail and a passion for producing high-quality work.

· Ability to communicate effectively, receive and act upon feedback, and work collaboratively within a team environment.

· Time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

· Curiosity to explore new creative trends and a proactive approach to self-improvement.

· Problem-solving skills and a positive attitude when facing challenges or tight timelines.

Desirable Attributes

* Experience with motion graphics, video editing, or animation is a plus.
* Familiarity with UX/UI design processes and user-centred design methodologies.
* Ability to adapt to different brand guidelines and visual languages.
* Enthusiasm for collaboration and supporting team efforts even outside formal responsibilities.

Typical Day-to-Day Activities

A typical day as a Junior Designer may include:

* Reviewing project briefs and clarifying objectives with your manager or team lead.
* Sketching out ideas or developing low-fidelity mockups.
* Designing digital assets for scheduled social media posts or email campaigns.
* Polishing up presentations for client pitches or internal meetings.
* Editing product photos to be used on the website or e-commerce platforms.
* Attending a team brainstorming session to contribute ideas for a new campaign.
* Responding to feedback and making revisions to existing designs.
* Ensuring final artwork is production-ready and follows company standards.
