2 Senior Clinical Fellows in Urology

We are inviting applications for Senior Clinical Fellows in Urology. The post would be suitable for candidates with past experience in Urology, looking to build on training opportunities and would also be suitable for those requiring more generalised exposure in Urology prior to taking up a substantive consultant post.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be part of a team of seven middle grade doctors providing Urology services to the department and Trust. Duties will include outpatient at St Helier and Epsom Hospitals. Elective urology theatre work is undertaken at Epsom hospital (inpatient).
Emergency admissions are to St Helier hospital and the post holder will be part of the on call team (one week in seven).
Other duties will include flexible cystoscopy, lithotripsy (ESWL) and Transrectal ultrasound and biopsy (where appropriately trained).

Job responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for:
1. Assessment, care and treatment of patients presenting acutely to the specialty.
2. Participation in the SPR on call rota and to provide cover in exceptional circumstances for colleagues.
3. Attending clinics and assessing patients and formulating treatment decisions seeking advice from the consultant.
4. Attending operating sessions with the consultant and assisting or performing operations as appropriate.
5. Conducting daily ward rounds on inpatients under the consultants care, supervising the junior doctors in the care of them.
6. Teaching and training staff in other medical disciplines, nursing and support staff as appropriate.

9. MRCS

Clinical Experience

11. Minimum of 12 months experience in Urology at SHO (CT1-2) level or equivalent
