Job description This role sits within a dedicated Skill Group alongside other engineers working within the technical discipline of Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering. You will be using your knowledge and experience in providing advice and managing elements of equipment support and acquisition. The skills group supports a wide range of complex equipment from traditional fixed and rotary wing aircraft, through to Uncrewed Air Systems (UAS). The task this advert relates to is the UK P-8A lead for Automated Logistic Environment (ALE). In this role, you will provide advice on enterprise-wide ALE matters and act as the focal point for UK P-8A ALE, engaging with the P-8A Delivery Team (DT) Engineering Authority (EA), systems specialists, logistics staff, front-line customers, and Design Organisations. You will be responsible for drafting, issuing, and maintaining DT ALE policies and procedures, as well as acting as the DT focal point for the collection, use, and exploitation of Aircraft Health Monitoring Data. Key responsibilities include conducting and coordinating regular Working Groups, triaging and allocating technical issues to the appropriate engineering desk and providing ALE SME input to key safety and integrity management forums. Additionally, you will provide engineering support to the UK P-8A Depot EA, addressing Depot maintenance issues as they arise and optimising the Depot input process. Regular in-person attendance is required (this is expected to be approximately 60% of your working week) to promote the benefits of face-to-face collaboration alongside flexibility of hours to support work-life balance and business need. Initially, you may be expected to attend more frequently to familiarise yourselves with the site, the team, and your role. Technical Data - Verify and recommend the use of technical data to support the management and maturity of engineering documentation, focusing on successful technical outcomes Stakeholder Management - Collaborate and accommodate integrations with other sub-system teams and specialists, over technical requirements, and design compromises, to maximise successful system implementation and delivery Support - Manage the support and modification to an operational aeronautical or aerospace sub-system Technical Discipline - Provide advice, guidance, and recommendations in relation to aero specialisms Person specification To be successful with your application, you'll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria : • Have experience of providing technical advice and delivery of successful aero engineering outcomes; and • Have technical aero engineering experience in in a variety of contexts; and • As a minimum hold either: o A Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Mathematics based qualification at RQF Level 6; o A Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Mathematics based qualification at RQF Level 4, plus with a Professional body/institution related to your discipline hold current professional registration at or above the level listed below; o A Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Mathematics based qualification at RQF Level 3, plus a minimum of 3 further years of relevant professional experience; o With a Professional body/institution related to your discipline, hold current professional registration at or above the level listed below, plus a minimum of 3 further years of relevant professional experience; Professional Registration List (minimum levels provided) o Engineering Technician (EngTech) or o Registered Science Technician (RSciTech) Note: Alternatives to RQF listed above (which cover England, Wales and Northern Ireland only), are the Scottish SCQF; or an international equivalent qualification, which must be supported by a statement of comparability from UK ENIC.
