As Engineering & Maintenance Manager, you’ll be fully accountable for the upkeep, optimisation, and availability of all plant equipment at the ERF site. Your focus will be on maximising operational uptime, ensuring full compliance with safety and environmental standards, and delivering robust preventative and reactive maintenance regimes. You’ll work closely with the Operations Manager to identify and implement improvements in plant efficiency, asset integrity, and technical performance - all while embedding a strong safety-first and continuous improvement culture within your team. Key Responsibilities * Lead all engineering and maintenance functions across the site, ensuring safe, compliant,and effective operations. * Manage and continually optimise maintenance schedules, systems, and procedures to reduce downtime and increase productivity. * Ensure full compliance with all engineering regulations, including PSSR, LOLER, PUWER, and environmental permits. * Take budgetary ownership for maintenance costs, defect resolution, and contractor management. * Oversee use and improvement of the site’s Maintenance Management System. * Provide strong leadership and support to a multidisciplinary engineering team. * Foster a high-performance environment focused on reliability, innovation, and operational resilience. Experience/Qualifications * Significant engineering leadership experience in the process industry or power generation sector. * Proven understanding and implementation of compliance frameworks (e.g. PSSR). * Experience managing and developing CMMS / Maintenance Management Systems. * Strong technical background with the ability to manage complex plant operations. * Effective contractor management experience and delivery against agreed KPIs. * Commercially astute, with experience overseeing engineering budgets and driving cost-efficiency. * Demonstrable commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practice. * Full UK driving licence.
