We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Design Technology Teacher to join a dedicated team.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and inspiring DT lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping students develop practical skills, creativity and a strong understanding of the design process. You will contribute to the department’s collaborative approach and help maintain high standards of teaching and learning. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Design Technology Teacher:
Teach Design Technology to KS3/KS4.
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
Prepare, develop and organise resources, including practical materials and equipment.
Promote safe working practices in the workshop at all times.
Assess, record and report on students’ progress and attainment.
Contribute to the wider life of the department and school, including extracurricular clubs and enrichment activities.
Maintain a stimulating and organised learning environment.
Support the development of the DT curriculum in line with school priorities.
Ideal Design Technology Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Specialism in Design Technology (Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or similar).
Experience teaching DT at secondary level.
Strong subject knowledge and practical skills.
Ability to inspire, motivate and challenge students of all abilities.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills as a Design Technology Teacher.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).
