About the Candidate
We’re looking for a computing specialist with the empathy, adaptability, and communication skills to inspire and support learners across a range of qualifications - from BTEC Level 2 through to T Levels and Higher Education (Levels 4–6). This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Computing Specialist to join an outstanding college and dynamic faculty, delivering high-quality teaching across BTEC Level 2, T Levels, and Higher Education (Levels 4–6). Role Responsibilities
Lead and deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across BTEC Level 2, T Levels, and Higher Education (Levels 4–6) computing programmes.
Plan, monitor, and review student progress, including overseeing students with EHCP or additional learning support needs.
Contribute to curriculum development ensuring alignment with industry standards and student career pathways.
Maintain course quality through effective data management, course reviews, and quality assurance processes.
Engage with students through high-quality information, advice, guidance, and pastoral care, supporting retention, progression, and achievement.
Collaborate with colleagues, employers, and industry to enhance learner experiences and maintain curriculum relevance.
Qualifications (Essential)
Appropriate degree or equivalent/relevant vocational qualification (or commitment to work towards).
Assessor Awards (or commitment to work towards within the first year).
Level 2 English and maths qualification.
Evidence of up-to-date Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
(A teacher qualification is desirable but not mandatory and is therefore not listed here.)
Proven success in delivering high-quality teaching and learning in computing.
Experience in curriculum development and using data analysis to inform improvements.
Industry experience with knowledge of current computing sector standards.
Strong understanding of diverse delivery methods tailored to different learning needs.
High digital literacy with the ability to integrate ILT effectively into teaching.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational, and time management skills.
Experience with internal quality assurance and working with awarding bodies.
Experience working with 16–18 learners and across the full student journey.
Familiarity with student target setting and initial assessment processes.
Strong team-working skills and ability to contribute to or lead IQA processes.
