Main Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching, Learning and Assessment
*
Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons aligned with a structured scheme of work.
*
Inspire and motivate learners, fostering aspiration and achievement.
*
Continuously develop subject knowledge and teaching practice.
*
Assess learner progress accurately and provide constructive feedback.
*
Maintain high standards of teaching and learning to achieve strong outcomes.
*
Use learner profiles to tailor sessions to individual needs.
*
Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, and British Values.
*
Manage learner behaviour positively and maintain accurate attendance records.
*
Share ideas and best practice across the tutor team.
*
Embed English and Maths within all learning activities.
*
Support employability and career development through job search and skills sessions.
*
Provide progression advice and guidance to learners.
*
Comply with organisational policies, procedures, and awarding body requirements.
*
Support internal and external assessments, including invigilation.
*
Participate in team meetings, training, and quality improvement activities.
*
Gather and act on learner feedback to enhance the learner experience.
*
Celebrate learner achievements and promote a positive learning culture.
Learner Progress, Reviews and Action Planning
*
Meet contractual, internal, and awarding body targets.
*
Conduct formative assessments and maintain accurate learner records.
*
Monitor progress and implement strategies to re-engage or support learners as needed.
*
Track attendance, engagement, and progression for all learners.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Compliance
*
Contribute to self-assessment and quality assurance processes.
*
Use data to monitor performance and learner outcomes.
*
Respond promptly to management information requests.
*
Safeguard learners and ensure compliance with the Prevent Duty.
*
Promote health, safety, and wellbeing across all activities.
*
Undertake additional duties as requested by the Leadership Team.
Experience and Competences
Knowledge of ESFA Study Programme funding and Ofsted requirements.
Experience embedding Functional Skills and delivering CEIAG.
Strong communication, motivation, and classroom management skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and within a team.
Flexible, proactive, and supportive approach to work.
GCSE Maths (or equivalent) and a recognised teaching qualification required.
