Production Operator role at Callen-Lenz. Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire, UK. Vacancy Reference: CLA-370. Employment type: Full-time. Salary Range: £30,000 - £35,000.
Callen-Lenz specialises in crewed and uncrewed aircraft operations and technology. As part of rapid growth, we are seeking individuals to help drive expansion in the four business strands: technical services, products, platforms and operational services. You will be at the forefront of UAS development in the UK.
Responsibilities
* Assembling unmanned aerial vehicles in accordance with work instructions and from the kit of parts supplied.
* Crimping connectors and soldering small components.
* Assembling components and assemblies using small screws and nuts.
* Checking work by using test equipment to verify correct assembly.
* Follow written and verbal instructions to perform build tasks as part of an overall UAV build programme.
* Get involved in problem solving to improve the build process.
* Demonstrate a commitment to health and safety in the workplace by always ensuring tasks are performed in the safest possible manner.
* Report all hazards and incidents in the correct manner.
* When required or directed, participate in health and safety training.
* Perform other related duties as required.
About You
Essential
* Experience in a similar role
* Good communication skills
* Construction of electro-mechanical assemblies
* Following both written and verbal work instructions
* Supporting problem solving activities to reduce non-conformance arisings and reduce build time
Desirable
* A full valid UK driving license
* Evidence of regularly testing your own work
* Experience with UAV and aircraft
Personal Attributes
* Must be a British Citizen or have an existing right to work in the UK
* Ability to commit to occasional national and international travel
* Excellent communicator
* Excellent problem solving ability
* Ability to work well in a team
* Enthusiasm for their work and self-motivated
* Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK
About the Role
Reporting to the UAS Build Team Leader, the Production Operator will build complex UAVs in a safe manner from a kit of parts by diligently following engineering information and in accordance with the Company Operating System. The role involves problem solving and continuous improvement activities.
