Join our Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick team as an Electrical CAD Technician based from our Maxim Park office in Motherwell, Scotland, and build something to be proud of. The role requires a minimum of 3 days a week in the office.

Reporting into the Digital Lead, to produce and maintain 2D drawings and 3D Revit deliverables for the electrical discipline, supporting design engineers and meeting project and information management requirements.


What you'll be doing

* Produce and update Revit models for electrical services in line with project standards and BIM Execution Plan requirements.
* Produce coordinated drawings, schedules, and sheets from the Revit model and maintain revision control.
* Support engineers by translating mark-ups and design intent into modelled and documented outputs.
* Coordinate model outputs with other disciplines, flagging clashes and design issues for review.
* Populate agreed asset data parameters in Revit, including COBie aligned parameters where required.
* Maintain model health, view setup, templates, families (where authorised), parameters, and structured outputs.
* Ability to interpret legacy information and produce 2D/3D deliverables where required.
* Support wider information management processes such as naming, status, issue response, and deliverable checks.
* Coordinate with external consultants to align outputs, check deliverables, and support issue resolution.
* Use quality and model coordination tools such as Autodesk Construction Cloud and Navisworks, where required.
* Keep up to date with relevant standards, tools, and BBK ways of working and apply them to day to day delivery.


Who we're looking for

* Working knowledge of ISO 19650 ways of working (naming, revisions, status codes, CDE use)
* BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng, HND/HDC or qualified by experience with an understanding and proven delivery of infrastructure projects
* Basic understanding of asset data (e.g. COBie) requirement as per BS1192-4
* Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is essential
* Experience in the use of Inventor, Plant 3D, Synchro or PDMS would be advantageous but not essential.
* Experience in the use of Common Data Environments such as Autodesk Construction Cloud or Viewpoint
* Experience producing electrical building services models and drawings (containment, lighting, power, comms, earthing and equipment layouts)
* Able to set up and use Revit projects in line with agreed standards and best practice.
* Ability to proactively work and contribute as part of a large team.
* Effective skills in planning, organising and prioritising personal workload.
* Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels and other parties
* Working knowledge of drawing revision and issuing protocols.
* Experience in interpreting basic sketches, plans and specifications.
