The Clinical Lead Nurse is responsible for managing a team of clinical nurses, overseeing clinical governance and quality assurance, and coordinating the mobilisation and implementation of complex care packages. This role requires a focus on training and development of the clinical team and nurses.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing and Leading a Team of Clinical Nurses:
· Supervising the clinical nursing team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure effective and efficient delivery of patient care.
· Creating and maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment, fostering teamwork and professional growth among the clinical nurses.
· Conducting regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback, and addressing any disciplinary issues as necessary.
2. Overseeing Clinical Governance and Ensuring Compliance with Regulatory Standards:
· Developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures to ensure adherence to clinical governance and regulatory requirements.
· Collaborating with stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies and quality improvement teams, to ensure compliance and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
· Monitoring clinical documentation and practices to uphold the highest standards of patient care and safety.
3. Conducting Quality Assurance to Maintain High Standards of Care Delivery:
· Designing and implementing quality assurance programs to assess and improve the quality of clinical services and patient outcomes.
· Analysing clinical data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address any deficiencies.
· Leading and participating in internal and external audits to ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices.
4. Coordinating the Mobilisation and Implementation of Complex Care Packages:
· Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, and coordinate the mobilisation and implementation of complex care packages for patients with specialised healthcare needs.
· Ensuring seamless coordination between different healthcare providers, community resources, and support services to optimise patient care and outcomes.
· Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of complex care packages, making adjustments as needed to meet the evolving needs of patients.
5. Providing Training and Development Opportunities for the Clinical Team:
· Identifying training needs and developing educational programs to enhance the clinical skills and knowledge of the nursing and care team.
· Organising and facilitating training sessions, workshops, and continuing education opportunities to ensure ongoing professional development.
· Mentoring and coaching clinical nurses to support their career growth, clinical competence, and job satisfaction.
· Strong leadership and management skills.
· Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills.
· Strong understanding of clinical governance and best practices in healthcare
· Ability to deliver and assess care staff training, ensuring high standards of clinical delegation.
· Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
· Knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices in homecare, including safeguarding and infection control.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Essential:
o Registered Nurse (NMC Pin required).
o Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role within healthcare.
o Strong clinical assessment and care planning experience.
o Proven ability to manage and supervise care staff.
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Desirable:
o Experience working with elderly, disabled, or palliative care clients.
o Experience in complex care, community nursing, ICU, ED or a similar environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
