Job Description
New Directions are looking to recruit full time teaching assistants to work as 1-1 support in the RCT area across primary schools. In this role you will be working collaboratively with class teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver personalised learning and care. Assisting with classroom activities, mobility, personal care, communication, and behaviour support. And encourage independence, confidence, and well-being in all students.
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
1. Has experience working with children or young people with special needs (desirable, but not essential – training provided).
2. Is caring, patient, and committed to inclusion and diversity.
3. Communicates effectively and works well as part of a team.
4. Can remain calm under pressure and adapt to the needs of individual learners.
Job Specification

To work in an Additional Learning Needs (ALN) role you will need:
5. A relevant teaching qualification
6. Ideally experience working in an ALN environment
7. Recent experience in a classroom environment

10. Strong interpersonal and people management skills
11. Flexibility and adaptability to work short-term and long-term.
